Area Day 2017

Wrestling with God is the theme of this year’s Area Day.

Jacob’s wrestling with God/Angel as recorded in Genesis 32:22-32 is a metaphor for the journey of the ancient Hebrew people in their relationship with the divine.  Jacob’s name is changed in this encounter to Israel, which means to wrestle with God.  This metaphor is one that can also apply to our own spiritual journey.

Past evaluations and suggestions have shown a hunger for going deeper into challenges to our shared faith.

This year’s topics include wrestling with racism, doubt, forgiveness, biblical ethics, just to name a few.  The workshops are 1 ½ hours in length and some of our presenters will do two part presentations.  There will be ample time for dialogue with the presenters.

Area Day is an opportunity for Anglicans to gather, worship together and participate in Christian dialogue with fellow Anglicans.  This will also be an opportunity to meet and get to know  our new area Bishop, The Right Reverend Riscylla Walsh Shaw.  We invite you to check out the workshop options as we explore:  Wrestling with God.

We look forward to seeing you on March 4th!
