What is Area Day
Trent-Durham Area Day is an annual event in the Anglican Diocese of Toronto.
The Trent-Durham episcopal area has 43 parishes and 61 churches in small towns, rural communities, and rapidly growing urban areas along the Ontario lakeshore. It is the largest geographical area of the Diocese of Toronto, stretching from Pickering to Brighton and from Lake Ontario to Haliburton. This is a large geographical area.
Due to the geographical size it is often difficult to get to know other fellow Anglicans in the Episcopal Area.
Area Day is one of the responses to this delightful challenge of community and unity.
On this day, which is the first Saturday of March every year, Anglicans from all over the Trent-Durham Area gather to share faith in fellowship, deepen their spirituality through dynamic and gifted clergy from across the entire Diocese of Toronto and sing faith filled praises to our God in worshipful splendour.
